Therapy:

Fulfilment comes in many forms and means different things to different people. A meaningful relationship, a close network of
mutually supporting friendships, a fulfilling career and a sense of belonging. A life in harmony and balance. This is what we all strive for. Yet occasionally we all lose balance and perspective and succumb to the pressures of daily living. We hurtle from one challenge to another and frequently seem to fall short in our goals, we become stressed, unfocused, tired and dissatisfied. We become hard to live and work with and we lose our balance.

Setting time aside to refocus and rebalance is a critical part of maintaining wellbeing. Examining our behaviour and our reactions to life’s challenges in a supportive and open way is a proven way of reestablishing context and equilibrium. Effective counselling serves to bring personal issues to the fore, to examine and to work through and to test responses to difficult situations in a safe and confidential space.

Common triggers for stress include bereavement, relationship problems, work/life balance dilemmas and demands, financial difficulties, career development issues, and loss of confidence which in turn leads to several identifiable effects such as insomnia, irritability, reduced libido, increased use of alcohol and a feeling of hopelessness or more physical manifestations such as panic attacks or night terrors.
